Intelligence, considered as the governing power, is called Gayatri.
The Puranas, Dharmasutras, history and Smritis propagate the theory where it is said that Lord Brahman should lead our intelligence to some superior work, it should inspire our intelligence to work towards the upliftment of the universe and the destruction of evil. Among the intelligence of Duryodhana, Duhshasana, Dharmaraja and Krishna the practical intelligence of Krishna won acclaim over the religious intelligence of Dharmaraja. To see nudity of a woman, became the destruction point of Duryodhana and Duhshasana. The total destruction of the 'Kuru' dynasty was due to a woman and that is 'Draupadi'. Bhartruhari says that if the minister of a king is sinful that King gets destroyed. In Vedas, it is said that one should worship God everyday, chant the 'Gayatri Mantra'. This increases your intelligence power and glory. The former Prime Minister of India 'Chanakya' used to perform 'Sandhya' everyday. The top knot of the Brahmanas is glorious and so it is tied at the time of meditation. The top knot is situated on the suture on the top of the head. This is the place which can be related to the temple of brahma. If the top knot is let loose it creates violent condition. Chanakya was once furious and had let loose this knot. He had vowed top destruct the 'Nanda' dynasty. In the same way 'Draupadi' destroyed 'Kuru' dynasty. The Vedas are therefore not for people who take it lightly and make fun of it.
Today it is believed that performing 'Sandhya' and meditation is a fraud, it only kills time and leads nowhere. Vedas propagate useful expenditure of time. The world of today believes in materialistic pleasures. They do not believe in spirituality, which actually can lead them to peace. Meditation can lead to a peaceful heart, but todays television only sends physical signals which are not so pleasant to the heart and give a momentary pleasure. The science of today is the shadow of Vedic science. Nobody can touch the tip of fire. The basic principles of Vedic culture are the tip of fire, top knot of Brahmana and the tip of Hindu religion. These references are found in Gruhyasootras and Shrautasutras. Shikha and Sootra are scientifically protective in nature.
Vedas tell us that one should perform 'Soma' yadnya. For this the moon plant is required. The plant is purchased by giving away a red, yellow eyed, one year old cow. The plant can be obtained from a forest. The Gods and Sages drink the 'Soma' juice. In ancient times a juice was made from things like Ela, Clove, Camphor, Saffron, Sugar and Musk.
Today instead of 'Soma' juice, tea is drunk popularly. Tea improves intelligence and gives inspiration.
Vedas say that whatever can be seen in this universe is Brahma. Do not hope for another person's wealth. Do not eat food which is made with anger and jealousy. Upanishadas tell us that one part of all food we eat constitutes the brain. The brain gets affected by food, which is given by another person, adultery and drink given by another person. The razzle-dazzle of another person's wealth finally can ruin your own self. The fire principles in the form of Sita burned down the whole of Lanka.
Today people do not believe in a concept called 'God'. People believe in that, what they actually see. Whatever is miraculous, is God. Money is Lord Brahma. Happiness means material pleasures or a cinema hall. The intelligence was not so much developed in Vedic times. Today even the newborn baby is intelligent, nobody wants to be less intelligent. Wherever you see, you can find intelligent people. Today's education concentrates more on opportunities and less on attaining knowledge. Everything is money oriented. One has to obtain things with tricks. The common thought possessed nowadays is a possessing everything that is possible in the world.
The belief today is living up to hundred years by taking advantage of others. Vedas always told us to live life by doing good deeds. But today's philosophy tells us to live by gaining money in whatever way is possible.
Vedas say that let us come together and do useful work. Let us remove negative feelings be being universally together. The bird crow was given utmost importance in the Vedic religion in rivers, mountains and rituals. But in the present 'Kaliyuga' the strength lies in a group.
Vedas say that never do anything, which is painful to us and also to others.
Today the techniques of Mahabharata are propagated in present India. Intelligence is the daughter of this universe, and ego is the son of the intelligence. The intelligence has to obey the ego. The soul is untouchable and free of all feelings. Because of ego one faces problems in dealing with the universe. Ego causes one to believe in himself and disbelieve in others.
The sages could see ahead of times. They learnt the 'Dahar' Upasana. A divine communication used to happen in their times. When the Gods were cursing 'Kansa' for his wrong doings and praising the Brahma, at that time Lord Brahma had listened to that divine communication. Todays communication like radio is limited. Today one believes he is a tiger when he wears a tie. In ancient times people prayed for good intelligence. The God of intelligence is Lord Ganesha whose vehicle is a mouse. A mouse means removal of faults. The power of intelligence is Goddess Durga. Her vehicle is a Lion, which means destruction of anger and jealousy.
